My research interests usually lie within the realm of visual perception. Object recognition, scene analysis, expertise, influences of ‘context’ or ‘gist’ (words I usually dislike), and statistics of the natural world are all interests of mine.
Lately, much of my work involves how the evolving structure of film can provide some insight into the temporal machinations of the human visual system.
Primarily I work with James Cutting and David Field, but I’ve also done some work/hung around with Tom Busey, Vivian Zayas, Bethany Schneider-Jurs, Dean Wyatte, and Kat Agres.
